Case Study: Convention of the North
Convention of the North 2025 - Preston, UK
Following a public tender process, Worldspan was appointed by Lancashire County Council to deliver the Convention of the North, an annual, high-level political and business event.
Hosted by the University of Central Lancashire, the two-day programme brought together some of the North’s most influential mayors, council leaders, business executives, and academics, alongside senior Government and Opposition figures. The event provided a critical platform to drive economic growth, influence policy, and strengthen regional collaboration.
Designed to align stakeholders across priority areas including skills, transport, and investment, the programme combined plenary sessions, expert panels, and policy-focused breakouts. The integration of event technology further enhanced delegate engagement and facilitated meaningful dialogue throughout.
Worldspan delivered full-service event management, encompassing delegate registration, sponsorship and exhibition coordination, security planning, catering, entertainment, speaker management, and comprehensive on-site support. With senior political figures in attendance, a strong emphasis was placed on security, discretion, and the careful management of sensitive environments, ensuring a professional, controlled, and seamless experience for all stakeholders.
Every aspect of the event was meticulously planned and executed to deliver measurable impact, reinforcing the value of expert event delivery in supporting high-profile gatherings.
