​ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Financial Accountant’s role is to help manage the day-to-day finance function along with period end routines. The role holder will work closely with the Management Accountant and Financial Controller to ensure processes and internal controls are followed correctly and improved wherever possible. There will also be regular contact with other teams within the business, including senior management.

The role holder will be a key contact for all finance related matters.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take responsibility for ensuring that the financial processes, systems, and controls are operating effectively
  • Preparing monthly statements inclusive of analysing and investigating variances and summarising data
  • Support with budget management and analysis against actual results
  • Liaising with and reporting to the Financial Controller
  • Reporting on key client financial data
  • Handling VAT, PAYE, and Tax duties, including corporation tax
  • Managing multi-currency bank accounts
  • Liaison with auditors and other external stakeholders
  • Work with the senior leadership team to deliver the agreed annual budget and quarterly forecasts, and provide analysis of variances from budget / forecast as required
  • Support the team in the implementation of new initiatives, driving a best practice approach at all times

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Minimum AAT Technician, preferably fully qualified accountant.

PREFERRED SKILLS

Knowledge of MS Dynamics, Good understanding of month end procedures, Strong IT knowledge, High level of finance literacy, Experience in an events agency is considered a strong advantage
